Little Luxe Treehouse in Spring

Grounds, Wildlife & Forest

WILD ANIMALS

This is true country living. We have deer, coyotes, foxes, rabbits, porcupines, skunks, birds, hawks, bugs, snakes, hogs, etc. If you see wild animals, please give them space and keep away. This is their home too!

OUR NEIGHBOR’S DOG

We do have a neighborhood dog who may come say hi, don’t be alarmed if she stops by (she came nearly every day during the build). Please do not feed her. She is a German Shepherd who lives at the next house to the north. She has been super sweet with us and just wants belly rubs. For the first two years, we didn’t know her name and lovingly dubbed her “Elaine” (from Seinfeld - Aaron is a big fan). But, we recently found out her name is Jude. We still call her Elaine.

PLANTS

This is a natural forest. There may be poison ivy or oak on the forest floor or vines in the trees. Refrain from hanging anything from the trees or walking off the groomed, landscaped paths for your safety.

OPEN FIRE

We are often under fire restrictions and for safety and insurance purposes, we do not allow open fires of any kind.

No smoking of any kind inside the property. No illicit substances of any kind on the property.

BUGS & LIGHTS

We are in a heavily wooded area, so while we get the peace and beauty, we also get the bugs in the late spring through summer months just before and after sunset.

We highly recommend when you are outside in the spring and summer months at dusk or in the evening, use the lights opposite of where you are at. For example, if you are on the upper deck, use the lights on the front of the house. If you are on the  hammock, use the lights on the deck, if you are on the tub deck, use the little electric candles or just the lights from inside. The rule is, if there are lights outside, there are bugs, so minimize the light directly where you are to minimize bugs.

There is a motion activated light at the entrance to the property  that will light up the entrance from the road and a portion of the driveway towards the treehouse. There is also a motion activated light at the bottom of the house near the driveway to (There is also a Ring camera here but only has a view of the driveway).

PARKING & DRIVEWAY

The driveway is made of crushed concrete (road-base). You can drive your vehicle up to the treehouse. The road can be muddy in the rain.

No trailers or RVs, they will not fit. Do not drive over the logs or drive beyond the marked areas.

The driveway starts by the small shed with the UpCountree sign on the side facing the road.

Be careful pulling in and backing back out, the road is narrow and lined by trees. Please no trailers or RVs, they will not fit.

Kindly do not drive on the path leading to the back of the property, this is for the future Sultry Safari tent (coming 2025).

SPIRAL STAIRCASE

Be cautious when approaching the staircase. Do not enter it from the side, you may hit your head on the steps.  Go under the treehouse and enter the first step from there.

The staircase is not very wide and you may find it challenging if you are bringing up luggage larger than “carry on size.”

If your shoes are muddy, please try to remove the mud or shoes before going up, there is a boot cleaner on the bottom deck.  The mud will make the metal stairs slippery.

Just below the spiral staircase is the rock garden. On the small inside table, you will find a little bucket of rocks and a white pen. We'd love for our guests to each decorate one rock and add it to the rock garden under the spiral staircase.

Deck & Dumbwaiter

The Deck & Dumbwaiter

MINI NINJA GRILL

There is an electric combination grill, smoker, air fryer affixed to the top deck. The accessories and grill instructions are in the basket under the microwave in the kitchen.

If you used the grill, please clean it by removing the plate and cleaning it in the sink. Please leave the grill and surrounding area clean and tidy for the next guest and put the cover back on to protect it from the elements. If the grill is not working, check to ensure that it is plugged in below. If it is not working and plugged in, check to make sure the plug power has not been disconnected from under the deck at the post.

DECK

On the upper deck are two chairs, a small table, a mini Ninja Grill, access to the dumbwaiter and the net hammock deck.

The string lights can be turned on and off by a switch just to the right of the door.

BUG ZAPPERS/LIGHTS
On the upper deck there are two solar powered bug lights and zappers. To turn them on or off, there is a small round button just below the fixture on the pole. Note, they will only turn on when it is dark outside.

Also, avoid using the large light fixture over the door in the spring and summer months as it will attract bugs, and when the door is opened, will let the bugs in. Note, If bugs do get in, please gently swat them or use the vacuum to suck them off the walls. Avoid squishing them on walls or fabrics.

DUMBWAITER

DO NOT STAND UNDER THE DUMBWAITER.

There is an electric dumbwaiter that takes baggage and groceries up to the entry deck. You will find the control attached to the post just to the left of the lift on the ground level. Please keep the weight under 50 lbs., no riders, and make sure to keep all items clear of the yellow and black striped tape. At the top of the deck there is a small gate that opens to retrieve the bags. Take caution when removing bags. Watch your head as the lift goes down.

Outdoor Tub & Shower
Little Luxe Treehouse Outdoor Tub

Outdoor Shower & Tub

OUTDOOR TUB & SHOWER

The 4’ round trough tub and shower is a beautiful outdoor feature. We have installed a rubber with wooden slats  cover over it to help reduce the natural debris. To remove the tub cover, roll it up. The far side of the cover is permanently affixed to the back of the tub deck. Tuck it under the louver leaving enough space for the louver to still open and close.

DO NOT STEP ON THE COVER, it will not hold weight and could result in injury.

If there is excess debris on the cover, around the edge or in the tub, the easiest way to clean it is to sweep it or vacuum it (if dry) first. Then, if there is still debris, there is a small hose attached to the toilet. To turn on the hose, there is a small knob on the left side of the toilet (not the large knob at the wall). Turn on the small knob, then take the hose outside. There is a small lever on the back of the handle, turn the lever to turn on the sprayer. There are some cleaning supplies including a squeegee, sponge, and scrub brush hanging outside.

There are special cleaning rags under the bathroom sink by the bottle of cleaner. Please don't use the nice white linens to clean the outside tub, it will stain them. Stained linens will incur an extra charge. It is important to turn off the knob to the hose to the toilet when done and roll the hose back up and put on the hook on the wall.

OUTDOOR SHOWER CONTROLS

The controls to the shower and tub are located below the interior shower control. The top lever on the bottom control is the hot/cold (hot is to the left). Turn the small lever on the bottom of the same control to turn on the shower or the other direction to turn on the tub.

It is important that you do not overfill the bathtub beyond the overflow lever located inside the tub. Make sure to close the drain in order to fill the tub.

Please do not wipe the exterior tub or shower with the white linens.

Open or close the louvers manually. Just a gentle lift up or down will move the louvers in sections.

Tub deck lights are accessible from the indoor shower. There is a switch  above the shower handle.

Net Hammock

Net Hammock Deck

NET HAMMOCK

The giant net hammock deck is built from double layered commercial grade rope netting. Surrounding the deck is a wire guard rail. Please refrain from sitting, standing on, or grabbing the wire railing.

Use the copper handrails to lower yourself onto the hammock and to get out. Do not pull the gate or the post.

Do not jump on the hammock. It is a commercial grade net installed per manufacturer’s instructions, but it is not meant for jumping. Maximum occupancy: 4 people or 800 lbs.

Inside the treehouse on the floor by the front windows are outdoor pillows and a blanket inside a basket. Feel free to use these outside on the hammock. Kindly bring them back inside with you.

Do not smoke on the net hammock deck.

FAN

To control the large copper fan under the deck, find the switch inside a covered outlet case on the post to the right of the fan. To turn the fan on, set the top switch to: L = Low, M = Medium, H = High. Note that the bottom switch is for the oscillating feature which is not functional (leave it in the off position).

STRING LIGHTS

The bottom deck is beautifully lit by string lights. These lights are connected to a switch just to the left of the storage closet door. Flip the switch up for on, down for off.

BOX OF GAMES

On the back corner of the bottom deck there is a large black box. Inside this box are two folding chairs, a giant sized Jenga game, and five giant dice. Please put all items back in the box as you found them and keep the box closed to keep weather, bugs, and critters away

BUG NET

On the bottom deck, there are eight bug net panels. To use these panels, unhook the small black knob from the elastic loop holding it back. Pull each panel toward the middle and zip from the top down. Note that the panel on the back sides by the hose and the closet door do not zip. Kindly roll the net back around the post before you leave.

OUTDOOR HOSE/WATER BIB

The water on the bottom deck is culinary water. Please do not let it run.

SUPPLY AND UTILITY CLOSET

The door on the bottom of the deck is a supply/utility closet. It is not accessible by guests unless in case of an emergency, power outage, or other technical issue. In this case, please contact us for instruction.
